Each year the National Federation of State Poetry Societies sponsors the BlackBerry Peach Poetry Prizes (BBP3), a contest developed to honor the trend toward poetry as a spoken, performance art. This art takes many forms, from open mic events in coffee houses and other venues, to competitive poetry slams. The BBP3 contest awards significant cash prizes to the winners ($1,000 for first place) and publishes the winning poets in this book, in audio form on soundcloud.com and in a video on YouTube.com. The 2022 winners include Wesley Frazier-Keyes. Raymond Jimenez, Jessica Temple, Kashvi Ramani, Sue Fagalde Lick, and Kevin W. Campbell.
